Hetzner review.
Cloud billing is documented, but the published content restriction rules out an adult-content recommendation.
Based on official documentation. Hands-on testing: not performed. Numeric rating: not assigned.
Our take
We would not choose Hetzner to host adult content given the restriction in its published terms. For a separate, permitted technical project, its cost documentation can still help evaluate infrastructure. A competitive server figure should never be used to explain away a policy conflict.
A good fit for
A technically managed, permitted project whose owner has checked the applicable contract and can manage separately billed resources.
Think twice if
You intend to host adult content, assume a non-U.S. location removes all restrictions, or think a server’s monthly cap covers every resource.
Strengths & limitations
What stands out
- The cloud billing FAQ explains the server cap, hourly rounding, and separate IP charges. Primary IPv6 is free; Primary IPv4 is a separate resource. [2]
- The June 15, 2026 price schedule separates locations and euro/dollar rates. It is useful as a dated price reference, not a promise that a particular configuration is available. [3]
What to weigh up
- The general terms and additional U.S. terms both contain the material restriction. This review does not present a different server location as a workaround or characterize Hetzner as an approved adult-content host. [1]
- Turning a server off does not end its charges. Primary IPs also remain billable while they exist, including unassigned IPv4 addresses; a server-only budget can miss these resources. [2]
What it costs
For Germany/Finland, the June 15 schedule lists CX23 at €0.0088/hour with a €5.49 monthly figure, or $0.0104/hour with $6.49 monthly. The schedule excludes VAT and IPv4. Check present availability and checkout conditions. [3]
The billing FAQ prices optional backups at an additional 20% of the server price. Other selected resources and excess traffic can add charges. [2]
Where it fits in your work
Keep content-policy decisions separate from hardware selection. The contract, selected product, customer location, and project content all matter; low cost does not resolve a mismatch.
What this review does not establish
We have not rented a server, measured performance, restored backups, or verified live capacity. The published terms are summarized for product selection, not interpreted as individual legal advice.
Product claims and published prices can change. The check date records when we read the sources; it is not a safety certification.
Affiliate & referral status
Hetzner’s current cloud FAQ says the former referral-credit program is discontinued and old links no longer qualify. A replacement public cash-affiliate program and ATN enrollment were not verified. No commission or signup-credit benefit is assumed, and all links are direct. [4]
