DeskTime documents automatic desktop tracking, a manual web timer, project tracking, reports, and dashboards. Premium adds features including screenshots, scheduling, and integrations. Tracking controls & retention
What activity records can contain
The privacy policy describes collecting app names, URLs, work times, breaks, screenshots, and keyboard/mouse activity counts according to client settings. It says typed content and exact click locations are not collected. These are provider statements, not an ATN security or privacy audit. [3]
Private time depends on admin choices
DeskTime says Private time pauses device-activity tracking, including screenshots and URL/app records. Administrators can disable this feature for an account, team, or individual. Do not assume the pause control is available simply because the product advertises it. [4] [5]
Detailed and summary records differ
The privacy policy lists 13 months for detailed activity data, with general attendance and time totals retained afterward for statistics. Ask the account administrator about access, exports, deletion, and the tracking settings that apply to your work. [3]
Affiliate terms & restrictions
Commission and attribution
The official agreement offers 30% commission on qualifying new-customer sales for nine months after the first payment, with a 30-day signup cookie. Self-referrals and existing customers do not qualify. Commission excludes taxes, reflects discounts, and can be reduced for refunds. [6]
Withdrawal conditions
Payment requires at least two referred customers and a US$25 balance. The terms specify PayPal in USD within five business days of a request, with unwithdrawn commissions expiring after one year. ATN has not applied or enrolled. [6]
Promotion on sexual-content sites is restricted
The advertising rules prohibit placements on sites associated with sexual, vulgar, or other content DeskTime considers offensive. This creates a material restriction for an adult-industry directory. Program availability must not be mistaken for ATN publisher approval; service use is a separate question. [6]
