Screaming Frog SEO Spider review.
Find the technical problems hiding in a growing site.
Based on official documentation. Hands-on testing: not performed. Numeric rating: not assigned.
Our take
A sensible tool to shortlist when your site has enough pages that manual checking becomes tedious. Start free for basic audits. A paid licence becomes easier to justify when you need saved crawls, JavaScript rendering, or a larger crawl. Finding issues is only the first step; someone still needs to fix and verify them.
A good fit for
People maintaining a website from a desktop or laptop.
Think twice if
Anyone needing an Android-only tool or automatic SEO fixes.
Strengths & limitations
What stands out
What it costs
The GBP licence page lists £199 per user per year for one to four licences, with bulk discounts from five. Each user needs a licence. Verify the selected currency and any applicable tax at checkout. [2]
The free version caps each crawl at 500 URLs. The FAQ says auto-renewal is off by default; review your own selection when buying. [3]
Where it fits in your work
For an ATN-style directory, repeated page titles, broken category links, and redirect chains are practical audit targets. A crawl can help prioritize that work. It does not prove content quality or guarantee rankings. This is our assessment of the documented workflow, not a claim that we ran the software against ATN.
What this review does not establish
We have not run a crawl, benchmarked speed, measured resource use, or tested the paid integrations. Large-site performance remains unassessed.
Product claims and published prices can change. The check date records when we read the sources; it is not a safety certification.
Affiliate & referral status
The official FAQ says there is no affiliate program for SEO Spider at this time. No commission, tracking window, or payout offer is claimed. This review links directly to the vendor. [3]
