Dashlane review.
A paid password manager to evaluate with a short trial.
Based on official documentation. Hands-on testing: not performed. Numeric rating: not assigned.
Our take
Dashlane is worth considering when convenient access across devices matters more than keeping a permanent free plan. Its documented features cover everyday password management, but the decision should start with the subscription cost and an exit plan. We would use the trial to check the actual browser and phone workflow before moving a full vault.
A good fit for
Solo creators managing logins across a phone and computer who are prepared to pay for continuing access.
Think twice if
You need an ongoing free vault, or are relying on older articles describing Dashlane Free.
Strengths & limitations
What stands out
What to weigh up
- Dashlane discontinued its Free plan on September 16, 2025. An old free-plan comparison is no longer a reliable buying guide. [3]
- After a personal plan or trial expires, the current help page describes a limited state: signing in and exporting remain possible, but viewing, copying, editing, and adding passwords require a paid plan. This is not continuing normal free access. [4]
What it costs
The official personal-plan page offers paid Premium and Family subscriptions, but a reliable amount was not visible in the retrieved pricing and purchase pages. The current paid quote remains unverified; check the billing period and renewal amount before subscribing. [1] [5]
The 14-day Premium trial is temporary and excludes VPN access. It should not be counted as a free long-term password-management plan. [2]
Where it fits in your work
For a creator, the useful question is whether the same setup works reliably for the email, platform, and business accounts used every day. Features on a plan page do not establish how well a particular login form or device will work.
What this review does not establish
We have not created a vault, tested autofill or recovery, audited encryption, or evaluated the VPN. This review covers personal-plan documentation, not a security certification or a business-team deployment.
Product claims and published prices can change. The check date records when we read the sources; it is not a safety certification.
Affiliate & referral status
Dashlane publishes a customer referral reward of six months of Premium for a qualifying invitation, up to four successful referrals. That is subscription credit, not a verified cash affiliate offer for ATN. Publisher eligibility remains unverified. These are direct links with no affiliate tracking. [6]
