Choose where credentials live
Google documents creating and saving passwords and passkeys, filling credentials and warning about compromised passwords. Saved items can be associated with a Google Account or a device. Account-based access across devices depends on the supported sign-in and synchronization setup. Our editorial use case is keeping separate, unique credentials for ordinary creator administration. Built-in service
No standalone subscription quote adopted
Google presents Password Manager as a built-in account, Chrome and Android tool. The reviewed product and help pages did not provide a standalone paid-plan price, so this profile does not invent a subscription or a discount. Evaluate the devices and browsers you actually use, including any managed-account restrictions. A Google Workspace subscription or a third-party app using a similar name is a separate product. Encryption and recovery
Check settings before relying on recovery
Google says on-device encryption can use the Google password or an eligible device’s screen lock. Its guide recommends current account recovery details and additional signed-in devices. A Chrome sync passphrase has a different scope: it applies to synchronized Chrome data rather than only passwords and passkeys. Confirm the active configuration before replacing a device. [3]
Account protection is still necessary
Google recommends account recovery information and two-step verification. Its help also describes collecting usage analytics and diagnostic information such as page views, taps and crash logs. A password vault does not make the surrounding account anonymous. Our editorial advice is to secure the device and review who can unlock its browser session. [2]
